Introduction:

Jiddu Krishna murthi is considered as one of greatest achievers, thinkers and religious teachers globally. He was born on may 11, 1895 in Madanapalle, a small town in South India. He and his brother were adopted by Dr. Annie besant then president of theosophical society. He is a teacher and a writer. Murthi spent much time in united states and Europe. He does not expound any philosophy or religion but rather made many discussions on things that concern all of us in everyday lives. For nearly 60 years Krishna murthi traveled the world and spoke to individuals, tiny groups and large audiences with a one hope ” To set people absolutely and unconditionally free”.

His parents were high-caste Brahmans. Being the eighth child, according to orthodox custom, he was given the name Krishna. The sacred thread ceremony (upanayanam) was performed when the child Krishna was six years old. His father, Jiddu Narayaniah, was a Government official, and a member of The Theosophical Society from 1881.

Krishna murthi always spoke not as a guru but as a friend. All his talks were about human mind and his vision of sacred. He is a great spokes person. When he addresses the audience people used to feel that he was talking to each of them personally. He established Krishna murthi foundations in united states, Britain, India, Spain and Canada to make his aims fulfill.

Freedom is at the beginning, it is not something to be gained at the end.

Interest towards education – Jiddu Krishna murthi:

Jiddu Krishna murthi interest on education was always outstanding and always passionate. This passion can be well seen in his work of book called ” Education as service” (1912). In this book he clearly shared his own memories of early school life and all loopholes in teaching that he had experienced. So he thought to help other a better form of education. Krishna murthi regards education as of prime significance in the communication and transformation of human mind and creation of a new culture. He advises people to have rational thinking and be independent. Murthi created to a new definition to education and highlighted importance. He said change should come from you, from with in you, because you are the seed of change.

There is no need of education separately. It is not that you mug up everything, pass exam and complete your education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die is a process of learning.

Rishi valley school – Jiddu Krishna murthi:

Rishi valley school is an Indian boarding school, founded by the philosopher Jiddu Krishna murthi. The school has a holistic approach of education. It is located in sheltered valley in the interior of rural Andhra pradesh about 15 kms from nearest town, Madanapalli. The school has remarkable atmosphere of peace and serenity. In July 1991, Rishi valley was officially declared a bird sanctuary and was cited by International council for bird preservation.

His essay ” The noisy child and silent mind ” is a great work. Noisy children becomes silent when they do something new of interest. According to Krishna murthi, education means over all development of an individual. In 2008, the Andhra Pradesh government declared Rishi Valley as special development zone and made mandatory to develop, protect and diverse environment from becoming degraded

Krishna murthi and Annie besant:

Krishna murthi and his brother Nityananda met Dr Besant for the first time on 27 November 1909 when she returned from England. Ever since their relationship was one of deep and abiding love and affection. In March 1910, the guardianship of Krishnamurti and Nithyananda assigned to Dr. Besant by a legal piece of paper by Narayanaih. But later Dr Besant had to send Krishna and Nitya out of India when she learnt that an attempt would be made to remove them from her care, as the father wished legally to annul her guardianship.In later years, when Krishnamurti was asked about Dr Besant he said:’Dr Besant was our mother, she looked after us, she cared for us.  But one thing she did not do.  She never said to me, “Do this” or “Don’t do that”.  She left me alone. Well, in these words I have paid her the wonderful tribute.’

If we can really understand the problem, the answer will come out of it, because the answer is not separate from the problem.

Jiddu Krishna murthi is a multi talented versatile person who was a Indian philosopher, speaker and writer and can be referred to as World Teacher. At last Krishna murthi felt that with out awakening intelligence only acquiring knowledge has no meaning. So, he strives only for that. He says printed words have no life, but you can give life to the printed words if you are serious.
