The reason behind the celebration of world blood donar day is the Nobel prize winner scientist Karl Landsteiner was awarded with prize for discovering ABO blood group system. His birthday was identified as world blood donar day.

Criteria to meet to donate a blood:
The blood donar must be very healthy, fit and should be free from all contagious and transmission diseases. The donar must is age of 18 – 65 years old and weight minimum of 50 kg. The pulse rate should be maintained between 50 and 100 with out ups and downs. A hemoglobin level a minimum of 12.5gms. Temperature should be normal. Take 4 months gap for each donation.
